After many years of serving MWGCOA, and the predecessor organization to NGCOA, I am proud to nominate our 2005 Course of the Year for consideration by the Board of Directions of NGCOA. To date our Chapter has not had one of our courses declared NGCOA's Course of the Year. It's important to note however that competition has been keen, and that past winners have personified the tradition of the Association.

This year our Chapter Course of the Year is Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury Minnesota, and I'm proud to add my voice to the praise of its owner David Mooty, for the impressive way he has embodied the early tradition of our Association. As a family-owned business, David has built Preswick into an enviable presence in his community, and its recent rejuvenation and redevelopment have presented Woodbury with a picture-book community asset.

David's decision to pursue a major upscale restaurant as a redevelopment partner, along with a world class community-based wellness program and facilities, are classic adaptations to his market. It has optimized Prestwick's posture as a valued community resource to the city of Woodbury, and its citizens and golfers.

Please consider carefully how effective Prestwick Golf Club has been in meeting the criteria of NGCOA for this coveted Course of the Year Award. We hope you will conclude that your vote should be cast for this textbook and longstanding member of our Chapter, and NGCOA.
